Family structure has changed greatly over previous generations.  Thirty years ago, the majority of families were based upon two (2) parents, married to each other. Today, the majority of families consist of unmarried, remarried, single, or divorced parents.

In many of these families, it's often high-conflict drama between parents as the children are caught in the middle with internal conflict and confusion regarding parental loyalties, often resulting in low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression in the child/children.

Some parents, particularly young parents, often refer to it as "Momma Baby Drama" or "Daddy Baby Drama".  A common cause for this is a fear of displacement; when at least one of the parents is afraid that they are being displaced in the child's mind by the other parent's new spouse or significant other.

Kayden, our central character, is faced with loyalty and love conflicts when he has a new step-parent.  Unresolved, these conflicts create signs of depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem in Kayden.  The conflicts are resolved with the help of his friends and other adults, and ends with Kayden becoming an empowered and very happy child.

This multi-cultural story gives a voice to a typical child’s thoughts and feelings, providing validation and resolution to a very real struggle occurring within the child and the family.  In a very practical manner, the story provides child-focused and transformative solutions for parents to use in helping their children as everyone learns that "It's All About The Kids!".
